On our way back we circled over to see Santuario Chimayo, a small old church where many healing miracles have taken place. After that we took "the high road" back to Albuquerque through marvelous mountains and were blessed with a beautiful moon rise that we managed to capture on film.

From Albuquerque we headed east across Oklahoma. We spent three nights at Foss State Park camped along the large Foss Lake Reservoir. A weather front came through bringing with it 50-70 mph winds, so we thought we'd stay put until the winds settled down. It was a beautiful place to relax and read while we watched the geese and listened to the loons serenade us.
We finished crossing Oklahoma and headed to Branson, MO. It was our first time in Branson, and we decided to become tourists. We parked at a very nice Coast-to-Coast park called Treasure Lake. The park is wooded and is set back from the street, yet it was very convenient to the shows. The first show we went to the one by Pierce Arrow. It was filled with great music and humor. The afternoon show was so good, we also bought tickets to their evening show (completely different) that was even better! The next day we went to an oldies show called "Lost in the 50s" which had lots of great dancing and singing of rock and roll hits. We also went to see shows with Jim Stafford (just OK) and Mickey Gilley (very good) and finally Shoji Tabucci (fabulous--Broadway type show). After about a week we were about 'touristed out' (and our wallets were thinner), so we headed up to Harry Truman State Park and camped in the peace and quiet of the woods. We could see glimpses of the lake through the trees. We spent our time there FINALLY getting Tom's photo portfolio together. We chose a variety of 64 photos to print and mount for sharing with others. It sure felt good to get that put together!
On 4/22 we headed toward the Horizons factory stopping in Olathe, KS on the way to visit with our friends, Carl & Vernie Seaton. Both Carl and Vernie had been though health challenges recently, and Vernie was recuperating in a nursing home. It was fun to spend some time with them and to (hopefully) bring some sunshine to their day. We got to the Horizons factory before dark and joined other rigs 'camping' in their lot. During the next few days we had some changes and adjustments made on our rig--and made some new friends with other New Horizons owners which was the best part of all. At the end of the month we headed back to the Minneapolis area for upcoming work and visits with family and friends. (It was also time to take Seymour Snake home to his family. For the complete story of Seymour's adventures with us, click here.)
